Vinegar Syndrome has a new 4K restoration, three versions, and exclusive extras. Subkultur comes from an earlier HD master but includes its own exclusive extras.
GENERAL NOTES:
This has been available in four versions:
- The clothed Spanish theatrical version with the covered take of the sacrifice, two dialogue scenes never dubbed into English, and trims to eroticism and gore (94 minutes 24fps = 90 minutes 25fps). There is also some debate as to whether the two dialogue scenes were actually used in the theatrical cut or just included in the integral cut to be dubbed or repurposed in the creation of the export version;
- The international version with the uncovered sacrifice take, nudity, and gore (86 minutes 24fps = 83 minutes 25fps);
- The US version (83 minutes 24fps = 80 minutes 25fps);
- The Integral cut (95 minutes 24fps = 91 minutes 25fps) provided to German licensor Atlas International; thus it includes covered and uncovered takes of an early sacrifice scene (shown in succession) as well as gore and nudity that would have been censored in Spain (which also explains the existence of the so-called "director's cut" of Amando de Ossorio's TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD that Atlas International also unearthed from their vaults). Both the Spanish and English tracks on the integral version have replaced the opening underscore with lounge music (prints and videotapes of the English export version featured a more atmospheric cue heard later in the film). -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray ALL America- Vinegar Syndrome - No cuts - The export version in 4K (87:20) and in HD (87:03) with the clothed Spanish version (93:49) and the integral Spanish version (94:46) both in HD

- Blu-ray B Paul Naschy - Legacy of a Wolfman #3 Germany- Subkultur Entertainment - No cuts - integral version (94:37) and a reconstruction of the Spanish cut (93:39) that removes the uncovered sacrifice take but not other cuts to the domestic version.
