Identical specs for the 4K Blu-ray. Only minor language differences for the standard Blu-ray.
Note that Universal's remaster of the theatrical version from 2005 had an error in the picture. Right after the Triple Rock Church number, there’s a shot of the Bluesmobile driving at night while we hear “Soothe Me” on the car radio. The camera holds on the car and cuts inside to a close-up of the 8-track deck in the dashboard. In the theatrical version, there’s a premature cut to the 8-track, a cut back outside to the prior shot, and then a cut to the 8-track at the proper point in the soundtrack, though the soundtrack plays throughout unaffected. All DVDs, Blu-rays, and streaming editions from 2005 onward retain this error.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray from 2020 has corrected the error, though note the accompanying Blu-ray in the package is identical to the older disc.
Information on differences between the theatrical and extended cuts can be found at Movie-Censorship. -
