GENERAL NOTES:
Although sometimes cited as a 1976 release, the film received it's first public screening at the 1974 Sitges Film Festival.
The film exists in two versions:
- the theatrical version (~85 mins) which was intended to be submitted for censorship purposes,
- and the extended version (~90 mins) which was actually what was intended to be screened. The latter ended up being shown the the censors, resulting in the film being banned in France. The shorter version was dubbed in English and exported. It received additional cuts for an X-certificate in the U.K. under the title "Seven Women for Satan" (~79 mins). -
