The film exists in a number of versions:
- the Hong Kong theatrical version (~106 minutes)
- the Taiwanese cut (~104 minutes)
- the Japanese cut (~99 minutes) which was dubbed into English with Japanese sidetitles and rescored.
- the original export cut (~90 minutes) which was trimmed down from the Japanese cut with the reinstatement of two scenes (also not included in the Hong Kong version) and retaining the Japanese score.
