The Radiance edition is the most comprehensive, but the French edition has some exclusive extras that are not English-friendly.
GENERAL NOTES:
The film exists in at least four versions:
- the Italian original (~81 minutes);
- the shorter German version (~77 minutes). Exclusive material turns up in the theatrical trailer depicting the fate of one of the characters that was changed by order of the Italian censors during production, but that footage does not appear in the German version;
- the English export version (a rare print of which was shown at one of the Mario Bava retrospectives in the 1990s);
- the British edit of the export version titled "Lust of the Vampire" (~65 minutes);
- the American version titled "The Devil's Commandment" that cuts footage and replaces it with saucy footage for adult audiences (~72 minutes). -
