OVERALL: Draw
For English speakers:
The Australian release for including both the original "Thai Version" and the "Luc Besson Version" with Thai Dolby Digital 5.1 with English subtitles with many extras.
The UK Contender/Premier Asia 2-disc and the UK Cine Asia 2-disc includes the original "Thai Version" with English subtitles, DTS audio, a commentary track and many exclusive extras differing from Australian release.
Note that the Australian R0 DVD version maintains the complete original Thai soundtrack, while the UK DVDs includes newly composed music.
For non-English versions:
The Japanese R2, Hong Kong R3, Thai R3 releases have a DTS track with the longer version of the film and differing exclusive extras.
The French Steelbook R2 and German 2-disc R2 releases have differing exclusive extras with the "Luc Besson" version of the film.
GENERAL NOTES:
Currently two edits of the movie exist, the "Original Thai Version" and the "Luc Besson Version". See Movie Censorship for visual details.
The Thai version is longer and the fight scenes are more graphic in terms of hits and sound impact. Additionally the soundtrack is completely in Thai.
The Shorter "Luc Besson Version" includes two easy-to-spot edits near the end of the movie, namely the shot where the main hero's friend (the bald guy) has his arm broken by a baddie, and the subsequent scene which has the hero breaking one of the baddie's legs in retaliation. There are additional small diferences throughout the movie, including different shots and ommited plans in the car chase sequence. Additionally the credits feature French rap music (not a lot to do with Thailand and the movie theme).
Thanks to ice-angel for the breakdown between both versions. -
