OVERALL: Draw
Germany is uncut but not English-friendly while Film Masters has the shorter U.S. theatrical version and the later video version with added gore footage. Both have exclusive extras.
GENERAL NOTES:
The film was released theatrically in 1971 in the United States in shortened version for double-billing with "The Beast of the Yellow Night". In 1987, a subplot involving a nurse and asylum inmates as well as gore inserts by Ed French were shot for a video version titled "The Bloody Dead" that was not released until 1997. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray ALL Special Edition America- Film Masters - No cuts - includes the U.S. theatrical cut (74:18) and the video version (80:13), although one of the gore inserts is missing from the reconstruction.
