Just make sure to get the 2-Disc edition. Note that the R1 DC includes two easter eggs not found on the other releases.
This film exists in three versions:
(1.) The original theatrical cut prepared by Warner's where they removed five minutes from George Lucas' preferred version. This version has never had a home video release (81 minutes NTSC = 78 minutes PAL).
(2.) George Lucas' preferred theatrical version. This version was released on VHS and Laserdisc (86 minutes NTSC = 83 minutes PAL).
(3.) The 2004 director's cut with additional, newly shot footage and CGI. All DVDs and BDs are of this version (89 minutes NTSC = 85 minutes PAL). -
