OVERALL: Draw
Identical specifications.
Versions
The film was originally released in the US (and in Europe, under the title "Mutronics") in an abbreviated version, missing just under 10 minutes of narrative material. It was later released on home video in a version, missing the same narrative footage, with three brief moments of gore added to the film's action scenes.
When the film surfaced on DVD in the US, it was as what has (arguably erroneously) been labelled a 'director's cut' which restored the narrative material missing from the US/European theatrical cut but omitted the three moments of gore included in some VHS versions.
On the other hand, in Japan the film was released in cinemas, and later to LaserDisc, in a true 'director's cut' which included both the narrative footage cut from the film's theatrical versions in other territories and the gore footage.
Differences between the US PG-13 "Director's Cut" and the Uncut "Director's Cut" (with additional gore) can be found at Movie-Censorship -
