OVERALL: Draw
Redemption R1 release has the longest print but is missing the breast exposure scene.
The Something Weird R0 is the cut R-rated version but has the breast exposure scene. It also has the best set of extra-features and a small amount of unique footage.
You might want to have both.
Please note the UK and Australian releases contain the missing footage as an extra but are still missing the breast exposure scene.
All currently available versions are open-matte; the original aspect ratio was most likely the UK standard of 1.75:1 (OCN ratio 1.37:1).
The film exists in four versions:
- The original international version which has all footage including the satanic orgy and the breast exposure scene (83 minutes NTSC = 80 minutes PAL).
- U.S. R-rated version which is missing approximately two minutes overall but has the breast exposure scene and a little bit of unique footage not seen in the international version (81 minutes NTSC = 78 minutes PAL).
- the BBFC-approved UK version which is missing the satanic orgy and the breast exposure scene (76 minutes NTSC = 73 minutes PAL).
- Severin Films' new composite version including additional graphic drug orgy material shot for export, only some of which appeared in the U.S. version. This sequence runs 3:17 longer than the international version. The breast exposure scene is also included (87 minutes NTSC = 84 minutes PAL).
The Breast Exposure Scene:
Just prior to the sequence in which McNee and company rescue Mower, there are unique additional shots of a screaming woman having her blouse ripped open and the man who did this grabbing her breasts and then kissing them. -
CUTS:
- R0 Double Feature America- Image Entertainment - Yes - US R-rated but with breast-baring scene intact (80:31 NTSC)
- R0 Australia- Umbrella Entertainment - Yes - UK version (72:51 PAL)
- R0 United Kingdom- Prism Direct/Leisure - Yes - UK version (72:51 PAL)
