OVERALL: R0
The deluxe mediabook for the bonus disc and soundtrack CD.
Do note that the German versions are from a 4K restoration of the 35mm elements while the US release is a scan of a 16mm print.
Do note R0 Legend House has the English dub and English friendly audio commentary and featurette, but it is also non-Anamorphic and is a PAL-to-NTSC conversion.
This film is also known as:
- Pendulum
- The Blood Demon
- The Snake Pit
- The Snake Pit and the Pendulum
- The Torture Room
GENERAL NOTE:
Avoid the many budget disc versions as they are just as likely to be sourced from the uncut German master as they are from one of the many U.S. prints which represented various cuts of the film, some of which removed the pre-credits sequence in its entirety while others retained it (both approaches also trimmed the daylight portions of the coach journey to the castle). -
CUTS:
- R0 America- Legend House - No cuts (79:56 NTSC)
- R0 America- The Aikman Archive - Could have some cuts
- R0 Deluxe Mediabook Germany- M-Square Classics / UCM.ONE - No cuts (80:11 PAL)
- R0 Limited Mediabook Germany- M-Square Classics / UCM.ONE - No cuts (80:11 PAL)
- R0 United Kingdom- Cornerstone Media - Yes (70:30 PAL)
- R2 Germany- E-M-S - No cuts (79:53 PAL)
