GENERAL NOTES:
Paramount has released the film with an aspect ratio of 2.10:1; this is the director’s approved ratio. Although originally shot in a ratio of 2.35:1, this Blu-ray/DVD transfer is the ratio in which Philip Noyce intended the audience to see the film.
The film was released theatrically - after extensive reshoots that changed the opening and ending among other things - and on cassette with an R-rating and a running time of 106 minutes. The film was issued on cassette again a year later in an unrated version that ran a minute longer. While the DVD release of the film utilized the unrated version, the Blu-ray releases so far have gone back to the R-rated version. -
