William Lustig stated in an interview with HotD magazine the aspect ratio to be 2.35:1. However, the film itself does not look as though it has been shot with scope in mind and many other sources say the original aspect ratio is 1.33:1 while IMDB states the original aspect ratio as 1.85:1. It should also be noted that the film was shot in Super35, allowing for anyone to open-matte a widescreen film from their original ratio.
