Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - Germany FAO DJVASO
Thanks for the specs... I have added "Una pistola per cento bare".
Concerning the second movie, do you know if it is the International or the German version?
I have cleaned up the existing comparison and I must say I don't get everything...
- The US disc runs 100:13 NTSC and offers the International version,
- The German disc by X-rated runs:
-- 100:23 PAL for the International version : meaning NTSC/PAL conversion, I guess... (or maybe the US is a PAL/NTSC conversion!?)
-- ~95min PAL for the German version
The fact that the German version is shorter by about 5 minutes is confirmed by this review:
http://www.senseofview.de/review/427
So, I don't understand why we have written in the overall "the German release has more extra features and the longer cut of the film."
The German version seems to be a shorter cut... probably a mistake from our side.
Furthermore, concerning your release running 94:45 PAL, I would think it is the German version since it runs ~95min PAL... but since it has English credits, I'm not no sure. On the other hand, 94:45 PAL gives 98:42 NTSC... but if you add the deleted scenes offered on your disc, you get : 95:55 PAL giving 99:55 NTSC, which is very close to the running time of the International version (100:13 or 100:23).
So, my best guess would be that the difference between both versions corresponds to these two scenes, and that the International version on the X-rated disc is a NTSC/PAL conversion, while the German version isn't.
But that's just a guess...

This is confusing.
Here is comparison between international cut and German one:
http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=fassun ... &vid=60910
I suppose that they used international version on this disc (AR 2.35:1, English opening credits, end without text) edited to fit German cinema version.

Thanks for the link... I don't speak German, but if I get it right with the translator, the International version is a NTSC/PAL conversion, which explains most of the difference between the running times of both versions.
After that they list the following differences:
- Film credits,
- One scene running 0:02,
- One scene running 0:59,
- One scene running 0:13
DVD added and comparison updated, but are you able to check if the deleted scenes offered on your disc match those?

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - Germany FAO DJVASO
Neither do I. It takes a little time to obtain the copy of Image disc and these scenes are missing on Simpel Movie/MPW DVD.

OK, so you mean the deleted scenes offered on the dvd don't match those removed from the German version?

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - Germany ADDED - FAO DJVASO
- I have replaced 'gatefold' by 'paper sleeve' as you suggested.
- Maybe the two scenes are actual "deleted scenes" which were removed from both International and German versions... otherwise running times don't match.
So, unless you have a better suggestion, I have just added a note stating that the deleted scenes don't correspond to what's missing in the German cut.
Many thanks for checking all this

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - German ADDED
After comparing Image disc rip and Simpel Movie/MPW disc, besides missing scenes from German version, additional lines are missing:
48:41 "You cover me.", "Yeah, all right.", "Sheriff, bueno, bueno, bueno. E sta bien, sheriff. You are a good shot and now let’s try to be reasonable. All I want is the lady you got in the jail. If this little find to pay, I’ll pay. But first let her come out.", Rocco shot. "(Something like curse word in Spanish). Hey, I paid a lot of money. See, I pay mucho money for her. And I want what I pay for. Comprendido?", Another shot from Rocco light the lamp. "I like that.", "You get it. Don’t worry Laredo, you’ll get what you are waiting for.", "It’s Rocco." (60 sec)
50:26 "Its kind just won’t quit, Laredo. Maybe it better we use the dynamite.", "No. I want that woman first." (9 sec)

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - German ADDED
- Do you mean that these two scenes are actually in the movie, but without the dialogue!?
- Since the running times match the one of the deleted scenes, I guess the deleted scenes are in fact these two scenes, but with dialogue? English dialogue I guess?
- Last question: the timecodes you provide (48:41 and 50:26) correspond to the German or to the International version!?
Thanks for going so deep!

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - German ADDED
-These two scenes are not in the movie. They are offered in extras as bonus scene 1 and 2.
-Deleted scenes are with German dialogue. I have quoted English counterparts from Image disc.
-Timecodes correspondent to International version (Image disc rip). Avi file which I have starts directly with the film. SM/MPW disc has distributor introduction which duration is about 12sec.
SM/MPW disc: (94x60+45-12)=5673sec x 25fps = 141825 frames
Image disc rip (avi file): (100x60+19)= 6019sec x 24fps = 144456 frames
Difference: 2631 frames = cca 110 sec !?

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - German ADDED
Tough one.
To be very precise:
And we have also:
* International version longer by 0:02+0:59+0:13 (23.976fps)
* Two additional missing scenes on the SM/MPW release 1:00+0:09 (23.976fps)
So US version is longer by 2:23 (23.976fps)
If we remove those scenes from the 100:19 (23.976fps) running time we get : 97:56 (23.976fps)
Additional opening credits on the SM/MPW disc : 0:12 (25fps)
If we remove this from the 94:45 (25ps) running time we get : 94:33 (25fps)
Unfortunately, these two running times don't match... 97:56 (23.976fps) gives 93:55 (25fps)
So there seems to be something added in the German release for about 0:38 (25fps).
I guess you already checked the closing credits!?

Re: Una pistola per cento bare - R2 - German ADDED
I haven't an idea.
The are no closing credits, even the word 'End'.
