And this is a sweet line-up IMO.

The Car (Blu-ray)
Runaway Train (Blu-ray)
Dressed to Kill (Blu-ray)
The Initiation (DVD)
Deranged (Blu-ray)
The Fall of the House of the Usher (Blu-ray)
Squirm (Blu-ray)
The Last American Virgin (Blu-ray)
Lifeforce (Blu-ray)
Time Bandits (Blu-ray)

For me, the big ones are The Car and Time Bandits, though there are a few that I'll eventually grab.

Some interesting titles indeed. I think my picks will be Time Bandits and Runaway Train. I don't like The Car enough to upgrade my old dvd to bd tho the new extras might be interesting.

I was just going to grab the Koch bd of Time Bandits but now that Arrow is putting it out in August, I'll gladly wait for that.

The Arrow release of Time Bandits is getting a brand new 2k restoration.

Yup noticed that while reading the details of each release on Arrow's site.
I bet the difference to the '99 Criterion dvd I have, will be dramatic. I sure hope so.

Yeah. Unfortunately, they couldn't get the commentary though, due to 'legal wrangles'. Maybe we'll not see that commentary again :(

Is the Criterion commentary an exclusive one? Many other dvds do include a commentary with the same people so I've believed it's the same one, only licensed from Criterion. Over the years I've noticed the folks at Criterion have been less than cooperative when licensing some of their exclusive special features to other distributors. That's a big shame if Arrow was unable to get it for their release then.

I might pick up Dressed to Kill as well but it's not mentioned anywhere whether it's the R-rated or Unrated cut... Arrow generally releases uncut versions of the titles so I'd believe it to be the Unrated but I think I'll wait for confirmation.

I read on another site that it has a fearure comparing the R rated and Unrated scenes
which is the same as my R1 dvd and R0 blu ray
presumably uncut.....the BBFC should release this excellent De Palma film uncut in the UK at last anyway

The US Lifeforce Blu Ray has both theatrical and extended cuts of the film. Presumably the Arrow one will have the same.

Quite true. But I never liked Arrow coz they can't properly restore audio and video.
When it comes to restoration, hats off to Blue Underground which is the best in this business.

I agree with you about Arrow's ongoing probs with the audio etc
I will not buy any Arrow release until I have read the reviews
But then again my fave horror TENEBRE goes out of sync twice but no one has said anything
The same applied with ZOMBIE blu ray which I didn't buy because of 6 secs or so missing in the opening scenes, terrible
I think the dvd is ok but once again Arrow have to sort out their dvds/bds well before releasing them
Never had any trouble with Blue Underground dvds or blu rays
Better artwork as well!

This movie looks and sounds best on DVD released by Another World (Denmark) or Firebox (Finland).
On Blu-Ray it was remastered/re-recorded by Blue Underground.
Any other release should be dismissed.

I bought BLACK SUNDAY and BLACK SABBATH from their website
and recently I have bought BLOW OUT and DRESSED TO KILL
Happy with them all - but the artwork for De Palma's films are crap - changed the covers straight away to thier original poster artwork :-D :-D

Funny you mention the audio probs with Arrow...
read reviews about their DRESSED TO KILL bd which I bought but around the 112.12 on the 5.1 track Nancy Allen says 'Bulge in your pants' which is mentioned on the R Rated version
She should be saying as on the uncut 2.0 track 'Cock in your pants'
Yet another audio prob from Arrow - yeah I l know the line is ok on the 2.0 track which I saw the film on and a lot of people will be saying 'so what' but its the ever ongoing audio probs Arrow seem to have
I read about this elsewhere on another site
And they have more bds to release which wouldn't surpprise me if there are audio issues etc to comment on again and again...
