Very brutal, nice performances by the cast, could do with bit more character development but .... I liked it.

66 - Before I Go to Sleep (Broadcast)
Below-average remake of Memento - 5/10.

67 - Insurrection (2014) (Broadcast)
Not fully convinced by this (harsh) Polish war movie 6/10.

68 - Good Kill (Broadcast)
Story of a drone pilot killing assumed terrorists in middle east from the USA. Decent - 6/10.

69 - Pioneer (Broadcast)
I really liked this norwegian movie, dealing with the true story of a competition between Norwegians and Americans for an underwater oil field - 7/10.

70 - Saints and Soldiers (Broadcast)
This rather looks like a TV movie and has too many "good feelings" to be relaly worthwhile - 4/10.

71 - Saints and Soldiers: Airborne Creed (Broadcast)
Maybe a notch better than the first part, but not up to expectations - 5/10.

72 - San Andreas (Broadcast)
Standard big budget disaster movie - 5/10.

73 - Saints and Soldiers: The Void (Broadcast)
The third part is not really better than the first two, this trilogy is plain disappointment - 4/10.

74 - Les Ardennes (Theater)
Good noir belgian movie, the first one of a new director (Robien Pront) - 7/10.

75 - Mulholland Drive (US Blu)
Absolue masterpiece - 10/10.

76 - Hyena Road (Broadcast)
Good war movie set in Afghanistan and with a dreamy mood at times - 7/10.

77 - Of Gods and Men (US Blu)
Surprising movie dealing with a true story : the assassination of monks in Algeria. Great cast, surprising atmosphere : one of the best French movies from these past few years - 8/10.

78 - 1944 (Broadcast)
War movie telling the story of Estonians fighting each other during WW2. Nothing tremendous, but this "forgotten" story turned out to be quite interesting - 6/10.

79 - Babycall (French Blu)
Leaning towards Polanski among other things. A bit confusing at times, but still OK after this second viewing - 6/10.

80 - Jurassic World (Broadcast)
Big souless action machine. Not terrible, but something is clearly missing - 5/10.

81 - Iron Man 3 (French Blu)
Not fully convinced by this third installment of the Iron Man series - 6/10.

82 - The Family (Malavita) (French Blu)
Rather entertaining and funny, a relatively good surprise after all - 6/10.

83 - Hell on Wheels #4 (French Blu)
Great fourth season with many strong moments and twists. I find this to be so much better than Deadwood - 8/10.

84 - Shameless #6 (Broadcast)
Maybe that's just me but I found this sixth season to be a notch below what it used to be. Still more than pleasant though - 7/10.

85 - Section Zéro #1 (Broadcast)
Mix of thriller ans sci-fi for this new series directed by Olivier Marchal. Not very original, but the dark tone and directing make it worthwhile - 7/10.

86 - Hostages #2 (Broadcast)
I had watched the first season a few years back, it was good, but this season clearly takes things one level above - 8/10.

87 - Vikings #4 (Broadcast)
Stil one of the greatest current TV shows - 8/10.

I liked this one a lot. Thought Ethan Hawke's mental descent was superb.

Had the UK Blu sitting for some time. Think I'll bump it up the list although I'm not home for four weeks.

Agreed. Found the scene where De Niro sits to talk about a film and it ends up being
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Goodfellas with the opening monologue
to be hilarious!

Bad Influence (First viewing; f.o.c.) – 6.5/10
Michael Boll is a smart, young and affluent stock analyst with a seemingly bright future. His routine yuppie life is turned topsy turvy after he befriends a mysterious Good Samaritan named Alex, who has saved him from being beaten in a bar. What starts as friendship between the diffident Michael and the dangerously charming Alex slowly turns into days of wild life and murder.

Rob Lowe and James Spader star. Curtis Hanson directs.

I missed this stylish psychological thriller when it hit the cinema screens. The BD is coming out soon so I thought I should give this a watch. Not as good as I have thought.

Chain of Command (1994) (First viewing; YouTube) – 5.5/10
Michael Dudikoff plays Merrill Ross, an ex-green beret who is working as a technical advisor for a US oil refinery in a fictional Middle Eastern country named the Republic of Qumir. When a group of terrorists called the Qumir Liberation Initiative (QLI) raids the refinery and takes several American workers hostage, Ross manages to escape. The plot thickens when another group of freedom fighters, the real QLI, kidnaps Ross and forces him to be witness to their operation – the rescue of his captive co-workers – to clear their organization name. Ross joins the fight only to discover that the kidnapping is part of a high-level government conspiracy.

Never thought this was a direct-to-video film, but this one is convoluted and boring. Not worth buying the DVD unless you collect every movie Dudikoff starred in.

R. Lee Ermey co-stars, David Worth (Warrior of the Lost World, Kickboxer) directs.

Land of Doom (First viewing; f.o.c.) – 5.5/10
A post-apocalyptic adventure about a feminist warrior and a soldier of fortune that have to join forces to battle gangs of rampaging bandits in the futuristic wastelands.

The post-apocalyptic genre has always been my kind of thing, but this movie has given it a bad name.

Deborah Rennard (A.W.O.L.) stars. Peter Maris (Terror Squad) directs.

Viper [1988] (f.o.c.) – 6/10
A covert anti-terrorist military operation code-named Viper goes awry when one of the operatives threatens to expose it. When he gets killed, his wife becomes the next target. Knowing that her life is in danger, she risks herself to uncover the truth.

I watched this once on video and have been thinking of getting the DVD. The plot is similar to Nowhere to Hide (1987), which gets a higher grade in my book, but the rest leaves quite a lot to be desired.

Linda Purl, Jeff Kober, James Tolkan and Ken Foree star. Peter Maris (Terror Squad) directs.
