Hi guys,

I was listening to a review (in Finnish) of this release by a video collector in YouTube.

This guy says he was surprised to find that the release is cut even though BBFC does not mention any cuts.

He says that the scene where a chicken is decapitated is cut event though that same scene is shown in the documentaries included in the disc.
There is a description of a scene in BBFC database for this movie saying "A chicken is decapitated, and bleeds profusely". I assume that is the scene in question

Could somebody please verify this? Maybe the master used was already "pre-cut"

The UK video was cut by about 48 seconds but the BBFC would have no issues now. The decapitation of a chicken would be deemed a ' quick kill' normally as the act would not cause the bird to suffer. The beheading of a snake was passed in the original Friday 13th movie for similar reasons. The original BBFC cuts which I have involved the attempted sexual assault of the lead actress. I will check tomorrow.

EDIT:

54 seconds were actually cut including attack above as well as smearing of blood on her underwear, cocaine use, plus an earlier scene of the same girl having lighter fuel doused on her trousers, and being threatened with lit matches. Any cuts would've been made by 101 Films & not the BBFC. I only have the old US DVD release myself.

Sorry I got a bit confused now. You were discussing cuts made to this movie in general but not this release in particular?

I was basically saying the BBFC would have no issues whatsoever with the film now, so it should be uncut. The cuts info was for the old Columbia video release.

Ok but many times I have seen releases where the master used was already cut. I don't like guesswork and I hate censorship. The cuts info for me is the most important piece of information of any movie I buy.

The question is starting to irritate me so much I need to buy the release now to check it for myself Usually I would never by any cut version of a movie knowingly (supporting such butchery), but in this case I'll make an exception to learn the truth.

Has it been resubmitted to the BBFC by 101 and if so does the RT jibe with the US disc?

The film has been resubmitted and downgraded to a '15' . No mention of cuts being waived, but the description mentions stuff previously cut. The website is still a mess, as the VHS entry as STRIKING BACK no longer lists the film as being cut, though it was.

I've a really helpful contact at the BBFC who told me they're aware listings info disappeared in the migration to a new site last October but it's slowly being restored. Figured I'd check up on it again in a few months.

I contact them every few weeks for cuts info, and luckily I compiled a huge list of films to work from.

As I expected totally uncut. BBFC cuts waived and chicken decapitation intact.

Thanks guys. I checked it myself and came to the same conclusion, no cuts (thankfully).

I get runtime of 89:28 though, the database states 89:26.
