Suevia bootlegs

Post by Brent_Reid »

As described here, Suevia bootlegs have no place on this site. To whit, can we get rid of their various region 0 DVDs? There's one listed for Eve AKA Eva AKA The Devil's Woman (1962).

On the face of it, I'd say yes. But there's always the caveat that some bootleggers occasionally seem to issue what appears to be legit product, so one shouldn't rule it out completely for Suevia or anyone else. I've never come across anything of theirs that looks kosher though. I'd be happy for anyone to flag up any Suevia DVDs they believe to be legit, so we can examine them more closely.

Having said that, there was a complete embargo on Resen here long before I first spoke up, and as Suevia are a sub-label of Resen...

Bump. Once again, Suevia are a sub-label of Resen.

Some have been removed so far. Put on the backburner due to other priorities.

Thanks James. There's no rush but without a reply it looked like the thread had died.

As I've said before, it's easy to find them all or I can submit them individually. I notice some are listed as being coded for region 2 but seriously doubt that's the case. More likely, whoever entered them simply didn't check.

It's not about just erasing the existing entry but updating each page entirely and noting removals when necessary. I could devote my time to this, but there are other things backed up as well including review discs.

Before this thread gets archived, is it possible to at least remove the footnote mentions of other Suevia releases from these listings? that in itself would leave only a handful of actual listings on the site.

This one has been flagged as a bootleg but is still listed:

Removed mentions and deleted the last one.

Cleaned up some more.

Blimey - that was quick! It's hard to be certain until Google has updated its cache but this appears to be the last one:

I've updated the company/distributor search on the site, so that doesn't display/count removed entries any more, as that would have a lot of false positives. I believe all are gone.

Thank you! A dozen or more down, only a few hundred of the others to go... :-?
