Time to give this thread a much needed comeback; Don May Jr. has revealed a LOT of info about what to expect (and not expect) from Synapse soon:

"- Health-wise, Don is doing much better than he was when he last did a Deadpit livestream two years ago, when he nearly died from severe angioedema brought upon by the covid vaccine. He still has ongoing angioedema attacks but says they are more diminished than previously.
- The Deadly Spawn 4K & blu-ray is done, awaiting all the cover art to be completed. Will feature 2 different versions with 2 different aspect ratios and different audio mixes.
- Synapse will be releasing all 12 of the Andy Sidaris movies in 4K. The first batch they're working on... Malibu Express, Hard Ticket to Hawaii and Picasso Trigger. All will feature brand new scans.
- TAG: The Assassination Game is finished and awaiting authoring. It has taken so long because the audio they had was in very poor shape and located a better source from the Library of Congress... but it took the Library of Congress 7 months to send it to them, putting the release back almost a year.
- Street Trash 4K is finished and awaiting authoring.
- Frankenhooker 4K is being worked on currently.
- They want to do Maniac Cop 4K but the elements can't be located.
- They have done a 4K scan of Intruder and May and Michael Felsher say it looks amazing. Even better than the blu that Synapse did over a decade ago. Michael Felsher will also be doing a new remaster of his original 'making of' documentary for the release.
- They were very close to striking a deal with Richard Rubenstein for Dawn of the Dead... literally the day it was supposed to be signed by Rubenstein... but after negotiating back and forth over the contract for months, at the very last minute Rubenstein got extremely particular about the contract wording in one area, and Synapse finally just decided to walk away. May says he's still friends with Rubenstein and is still interested in doing Dawn if Richard ever approaches them again.
- Lemora ain't happening, probably ever. At least until recent issues that have popped up are resolved.
- Don has decided to do a 4K release of The Kindred.
- They have the negative for Just Before Dawn and have completed a 4K scan. That's all he would say on the subject.
- They are searching for the original negative they used for the Curtains Blu-ray, so they can do a new 4K scan for a 4K release. Technicolor was supposed to send it back to the licensor but the licensor, nor Technicolor seem to have it. He is hopeful it can be located, though.
- A new 4K scan of Prom Night was just completed from the camera negative. May says the new scan "looks insane!" Hoping to get Jamie Lee Curtis for an audio commentary track, as she agreed to do one the first time around for the blu-ray, but before it could be recorded, she had a family issue come up and was unable to do it.
- Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue 4K is in the pipeline at some point, but isn't actively being worked on currently.
- Rock n' Roll Nightmare and Black Roses... the original negatives to both still can't be located.
- The company they got The Blind Dead from went out of business and a bank currently owns them, so they probably won't be doing the rest of them for a long while, if ever.
- Don has looked into King Frat but couldn't find who owned the rights. If they can find the owner and the negative, they would do it.
- Don brought up The Devils and said he'd like to do that, but obviously WB isn't letting that happen. He said his contact at WB told him that Criterion asked for it a couple of years ago, so if it ever happens, they'll offer it to them first.
- Don again relayed the story about how they lost that never-seen original version of Curtains before it was reshot because the footage was thrown out due to the company not wanting to pay storage fees any longer.
- Don also mentioned on the livestream that he will be remastering Josh Becker's film "If I Had a Hammer"(1999) from the negative."
Some Red Shirt Pictures news as well, as Michael Felsher joined the stream about halfway through...
- Hunter's Blood is almost done. The original negative had some extra bits of gore that previous releases VHS and laserdisc didn't have, making this release fully uncut for the first time ever.
- Angel of H.E.A.T. is currently being worked on.
- Hoping for Fright Night Part 2 to be released this year, but not 100%. It has been scanned but still needs to be color-timed.
- They have a lead for the alternate cut for Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2, and are hoping that version can be included on the release (the cut before it was re-cut by producers to become Prom Night 2). Felsher wants this release to be in a big fancy box like Trick or Treat was.
- The original elements for Prom Nights 3 and 4 have supposedly been located. Felsher is supposed to take a phone call with someone this morning about those two movies and the location of the elements.
- Red Shirt is doing a documentary about the making of Creepshow 2. It will be a stand-alone feature-length documentary and not a special feature for a Blu or 4K release, just like Just Desserts was. This documentary has been in the works so long, it features an interview with George Romero."
