IMDB & Amazon - update

Post by Nigel_Badnell »

In case you wondered why/where the useful "Buy it Amazon" link had disappeared/to on IMDB:

Shrewd move by the State IMO. Won't surprise me if IMDB move all jobs outside of California, especially considering Amazon owns IMDB and they likely get a lot of referrals from the site.
I work away a lot but I will reply to all PM's within a few days so please have patience!

Yep, smart move  Thought they'd have learnt from what happened when other States
tried that one. Amazon have an ongoing case against New York State so I guess they're waiting on that
outcome (to see if they can re-instate links without having to pay in-state sales tax) before pulling IMDB out.

IMDB "buy it" links to Amazon have returned, at least to .co.uk (which does does not generate US tax issues, I guess).
