The Dead One (1961) Blu-ray UPDATED

The Dead One (1961) Blu-ray
https://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/ ... ?fid=66529

Blu-ray A America - Severin Films [2023 Release]
Limited Edition

Blu-ray A America - Severin Films [2024 Release]
Standard Edition

1. It is perhaps not worth listing the Severin release twice, as I believe the only difference is the slipcover. The Notes section could read:

Sourced from a 2K scan of the interpositive.
Also available with exclusive slipcover directly from Severin Films.

(with the Severin page link as already included in the current Limited Edition listing)

2. Aspect Ratio is 2.39:1 (measured by me).

Note this is despite Severin stating both on the back of the case and on their website that it is 2.35:1 for this release, and both Blu-ray.com and IMDb stating the movie OAR is 2.35:1.
I suspect the true OAR is in fact 2.39:1, given that this release is taken from a scan of the interpositive.

3. Extras runtimes:

Audio interview with distributor Samuel M. Sherman and Severin Films' David Gregory (plays as a secondary audio track over the film) (17:52)
"The Crazy Wild and Crazy Life of Barry Mahon" 2023 interview with author/filmmaker C. Courtney Joyner on writer/producer/director Barry Mahon (29:01)
Theatrical Trailer (1:34)

(Note the audio interview runtime is not a typo - it is a lot shorter than the movie, just seventeen minutes and fifty two seconds.)

-
source: I own it with the slipcover.
