OVERALL: Draw
The US Image release has the longer version of the film, with differing extras from the Warner/MK2 releases.
The Warner/MK2 releases have the most extras but have the shorter version of the film with an optional 5.1 track. But note for US buyers, the Warner release is a PAL→NTSC conversion.
Note that there are three versions of the film:
- The 1957 UK première cut: 120+ mins
- The 1957 general theatrical release cut, created a few months after the première: 110 mins
- The 1972 US première cut: the Chaplin estate-approved "Daddy" version, most commonly in circulation today: 105 mins
