OVERALL: Draw
The UK release has 3 versions of the film with additional extras over the Kino Lorber releases.
The French has some exclusive extras with one version of the film.
We have no idea why the "Violent City" and "Città violenta" cuts run longer on the 88 Films release compared to the Kino Lorber since they use the same masters (Kino Lorber's logo is also printed on the face of 88 Films' second disc as the source of the master for "The Family").
Also available from:
- Happinet (Japan)
GENERAL NOTES:
There are two principal versions of the film:
- the Italian cut of the film (109 minutes), the English/Italian hybrid version on various home video releases is not a legitimate cut of the film;
- the English version first released as "Violent City" and then as "The Family" (96 minutes) which actually features a few more English-language passages where the hybrid cut reverted to Italian. -
