The Criterions have both cuts of the film and superior extras, although do note that the (US) MGM release has a different documentary.
Different versions:
- "General Release" version.
- "Roadshow" version (AKA "Extended Version" on Criterion's release, or "Restored Version" on MGM's Laserdisc).
"Extended" version includes almost complete version of the original roadshow cut (it's approx. 15 minutes longer than the "Restored Version", and approx. 35 minutes longer than the "General Release" version).

- Blu-ray A America- Criterion Collection - No cuts - Contains both the general release version (163:27) with restored 4K digital film transfer and the extended version (197:35) with intermission and entr'acte. Extended version features newly restored footage as well as still photographs with audio and subtitles for footage believed lost or destroyed
- Blu-ray ALL America- MGM Home Entertainment - No cuts - General release version; compared to the Criterion release, the MGM is missing the entr'acte (159:29)
- Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Criterion Collection - No cuts - Contains both the general release version (163:27) with restored 4K digital film transfer and the extended version (197:35) with intermission and entr'acte. Extended version features newly restored footage as well as still photographs with audio and subtitles for footage believed lost or destroyed
