Early pressings suffer from a minor glitch at 8:17 in the 1.66:1 version. However the 1.37:1 version has a more noticable glitch around 14:37. The DVDs seem to be unaffected. A replacement has now been offered as of 19th May 2014.
As of 2020, it would seem that uncorrected stock is still being sold.
This was the debut of the 2013 restoration which was subsequently used on all other BD releases bar the US. -

OVERALL: Blu-ray B
Second Sight for the new and archival extras.
The US Shout! Factory release has the US R-Rated version as well as exclusive extras.
The German editions have two exclusive interviews but these aren't English-friendly.
NOTE:
Later pressings corrected the glitches on the UK release.
Two versions of this film exist:
- the UK version (95 minutes);
- the US version which was cut down (93 minutes); this is missing:
-- A sequence, where the Baron damns his useless hands and grasps an artery from the monster's wrist with his teeth, followed by his rinsing his mouth out with water.
-- When Briant inserts the monster's eyeball, and Cushing says, "Pop it in", a brief side view of this procedure is replaced in the American version with a reaction shot of Madeline Smith.
-- A shot of Bernard Lee's character's handless arms in his open coffin.
-- After the asylum director has his throat mutilated by the monster, the gushing of blood that comes from his neck is a split-second longer.
-- A few seconds more of the inmates tearing apart the monster during the climax, most notably missing in action is a shot where his guts are being squashed by someone's feet. -
