OVERALL: Draw
R2 Arrow Video release has two versions of the film, English and Italian audio (with optional English subtitles), the audio commentary, and an exclusive interview. The German Koch edition has some additional extras but some extras are not German-friendly.
Do note that the French disc has an exclusive non-English extra.
Do note that the R0 Italian has offers both English and Italian audio, with optional English subtitles. It has also an English friendly featurette.
The R2 German also offers both English and Italian audio, but it has no English subtitles. It offers different extras, which are not English friendly.
Whichever you choose, yoou should stay away from R0 US and R2 France, which are not Anamorphic.
General note:
The following versions of the movie are known:
- The European version (~98min): this version features an original score by Stelvio Cipriani,
- The Italian version (~98min): this version is identical to the Italian one, but with Italian credits (the film is an American/Italian/West German production),
- The US theatrical version (~91min): when the film was released in the US by American International Pictures, some takes of violent scenes (e.g. the killing of the doctor) have been softened, the order of some scenes shuffled, and music rescored by Les Baxter.
