DVD REVIEW FORUM LAUNCHED!

The more observant of you will have already spotted our new forum but we thought we'd wait until it had developed before officially announcing it here. We now have a DVD Review Forum. There's already 30 titles reviewed and it's growing rapidly. Why not take a look and if you are a budding DVD reviewer, why not write one about your favourite film on DVD. You can't post in the forum yourself, but the details on how to get your review and name up in lights are contained in the announcement at the head of the forum. Here's a direct link.

WE HAVE REACHED 1 MILLION VISITORS!

Rewind is pleased to announce that we have received our 1 millionth visitor! In just over 4 years, we have gone from being a tiny site receiving hundreds of visitors each week, to a major DVD site receiving thousands of visitors. In addition, we now have over 15,000 individual DVDs in our database and we are not far off from adding our 5,000th film. Thanks to everyone who has worked on the site over the years and thanks to everyone who continues to visit the site and supports us.

BANNER ADVERTISEMENTS REMOVED

Rewind has taken the decision to remove banner advertising from within our comparisons. We believe that the banner ads within the comparisons caused the site to look messy and would have made it harder for you to compare individual discs. The banners were advertising Home Cinema websites and these have been replaced with simple text links. We hope you find this an improvement. If you want Rewind to stay around, please continue to support us by buying products via the links found on the site.

NEW FEATURES ADDED TO THE DATABASE

There have been 3 new visible features added to the Comparison Database. Full details are available on the main Enhancement Programme page. Basically within selected comparisons, you will now see the year that the film was released, the name of the director and finally a link to The Internet Movie Database. Not all comparisons will have this extra information at present due to the vast amount of titles stored in our database. Over the coming months though, the team will be updating all existing comparisons with the new information.

In addition to the above, Vincent has been busy behind the scenes improving the technical aspects of the database and the site in general. The site is now more secure and has also been tweaked to allow new comparisons to be added more easily. In Spring, we will be announcing some major improvements to the site as a whole, especially the database, so please keep checking this page for the very latest information.
