Rewind (DVDcompare) is looking for 2 enthusiastic reviewers to join our team. A love for movies and TV is a must but applicants must also have the following:

- Excellent writing skills
- A suitable knowledge of film and TV
- An understanding of the technical aspects of DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray
- Must have a home theater set-up
- Being HD compatible (Blu-ray and/or HD DVD) is a bonus but not necessary
- You must be over 17 years old and currently reside in the United States

Like all the team members working on the site, it's completely voluntary and doesn't pay but the perks are the free copies of the latest DVD, HD DVD or Blu-ray releases from major studios that you get to keep. If you're interested in reviewing some films, please email us at admin@dvdcompare.net along with the following:

- Your full name
- Your forum name (if you are already registered)
- Your home theater set up
- A sample review of a recent film

CLASSIC COMPARISONS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

ADVANCED SEARCH OPTION PROTOTYPE

We have been working on an Advanced Search option for a while and have decided now is the time to release the trial version for some user testing. It's a 'fuzzy' search which means you can search for partial phrases and it allows you to combine all of the search criteria available in the standard search option. You can access this new option here.

WE'VE MADE A NUMBER OF OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

As well as the new filter option which we introduced earlier this week, we have also made some other improvements to the functionality of the site:

1. Blu-Ray titles will now be listed (once updated) with the correct picture format terminology, i.e. '1080p 24fps'.

2. The Aspect Ratio, Picture Format and TV System data in the comparisons have now been separated. This will enable us to expand the search options at a later date so that, for example, you will be able to search for anamorphic releases, PAL releases or 2.35:1 releases.

3. We can now include links to reviews over at DVD Active - one of our latest friendly partner sites. Available reviews will be indicated in the same method as the DVD Beaver reviews, i.e. by a small logo link at the top of the comparison.

4. Following a user suggestion in our Site Feedback Forum the Updates/Additions lists have been improved and now list the HD/Blu-Ray titles separately.

5. The Comparison Statistics area has been expanded to include links to all HD titles, Blu-Ray titles and titles with DVD Active reviews.

NEW FILTER OPTION FOR COMPARISONS

Our latest improvement has just gone live. At the start of every comparison, in the area with the 'jump to' links for each release within the comparison, there are now tick boxes and an 'Apply Filter' option which allows you to choose which of the releases available you want to view.

So, if you're only interested in releases from a certain region, country or distributor, you can now choose to view only those releases.

Instructions on how to use this new option are included at the start of every comparison but if you are experiencing problems, would like to tell us what you think of this new option or have some suggestions for other improvements you'd like to see, feel free to let us know via the Site Feedback Forum.
